Colin, Mommy & Daddy made the trip to Peoria, IL this past Thursday to take a much needed trip to visit Uncle Doug & Aunt Diane Oberhelman. The flight was great we had a few connections and drive from St. Louis, MO which made us get in a little late around 11 p. m. Colin woke up first thing Friday morning ready to start the day!! He was so excited to go exploring the new surroundings and made instant friends with Uncle Doug & Di. He loved all wildlife from the fox, deer, snake, and fish tank. Colin got to go to see Doug's new office and as soon as he hit the lobby Colin was in love!! He loved the bucket and cab and thought it would be great to just climb right in! Colin loved pushing the elevator to go upstairs and off he went running towards Uncle Doug's model Caterpillar toys!! He was in little boy heaven! Colin thought he should just jump right in Uncle Doug's chair and start seeing how its done! Then headed out to help with the typing too! After a great office visit we headed over to an arcade place called Jillians where Colin got to shoot some hoops, play skee ball, shoot some deer and he had just a blast!! Later that afternoon Colin, Daddy & Uncle Doug headed to the farm to check out the property on the mule and to see the horses and chickens. Colin loved tell the chickens to "come on chickens..right now" to get them in their cages...and boy did he love the mule ride! Mommy and Aunt Di met up at the Double D farm too to check out the boys! Saturday morning Colin, Mommy, Daddy, Uncle Doug, Aunt Diane, and Allison headed out to the Elmood Property so Uncle Doug could take Colin on the tractors (D5) and let him do some fishing! But before that Colin got to meet Lilly, Allison's dog and they were an instant hit!! Lilly got to stay the night and loved hanging out with Colin and even enjoyed Baby Smith too! Colin loved the new shed with all the equipment and just for Grampie we got a shot with the John Deere tractor too! Colin got to operate the D5 like a pro (with help of course) and then we headed down to the cabin for some fishing!! Colin loved fishing with everyone and got to catch a lot of fish. We came in for some great grub and then headed out onto the pantoon boat so Colin could help Uncle Doug feed the fish and steer the boat of course. Followed by a fun four wheel ride with Daddy. We were all pretty much pooped by then and headed home for some r&r. Then we headed out to Wild Wife Prairie Park to check that out! Its a great park really close to the house. Colin really enjoyed the gift shop with his cool new shirt, bugs and of course his gigantic unicorn lollipop. Aunt Di...thought that would be great and Colin very much agreed! Then we headed out to see the wolves, ground hogs, and a few other animals before we headed home for dinner! Colin loved playing with the fox skin and showing off around the house! Sunday Mommy, Daddy & Colin headed over to visit Mommy's friend Bill and his family. Bill put out a great BBQ spread and Colin had a blast in his "man cave" garage, game room and learning to throw bean bags. Colin enjoyed spending time with everyone and it was nice to catch up with old friends! After nap time Colin got to meet Allen and we headed down to Foley's place to meet Sadie's grand pups. (Sadie is Uncle Doug's lab) Colin loved the puppies they were so cute and big (6 weeks old) and had a great time with the bigger lab Rue as he followed Colin all around and they played catch. Colin had a blast with Allen...running, playing games, and just goofing around! Colin thought it was super fun to try and "kick" Allen while he sat on the floor board of the truck on the way home. Allen thought it would be great to teach Colin where the horn was on the Mule...lucky for us that toy is outside!! We headed back to the house for a great dinner and then Mommy and Daddy got spoiled with an at home massage! What a way to end the week!! Mommy being 24 weeks pregnant it was great! Monday we all got up early our last breakfast together, Colin had coffee cake which he enjoyed and then took off playing with the fish, having Uncle Doug chase him up the stairs and play with Aunt Di abacus. Of course Colin couldn't leave with out throwing a stick to Sadie and honking the Mule. It was such a great week!! Colin certainly had a blast and got to try out so so many things!! Such a lucky boy...we were sad when we got home because we just miss them both so much already!! The first pictures are just so random fun ones we took and the rest follow the weekend update.
