Caden's Procedure

Awhile back our lactation consultant felt that Caden might be tongue tied. There is a specialist in the area that we referred to and went there for a consult last week. The Dr. informed us that Caden did have a mild tongue tie and a high pallet. After much discussion with that Dr, our Ped, and each other Caden had his tongue tie procedure today at 1:45. The office was a 40mile drive, which Caden screamed for Mommy about 30 miles worth on the way to the office. Grammie and Grampie came to watch Colin..thank goodness. Daddy met us at the office. Mommy had second thoughts all day and wonders if the stress from the procedure looming this week is what had me super sick to my stomach the last 6 days. We arrived at the office on time, naturally we were seen about 20 minutes past our time. The Dr. and staff came in and spoke to us on why we were making this decision and talked about our concerns. We were asked to leave the room after they weighed Caden (11 lbs 2 oz) and to wait in the front lobby. The procedure lasted only seconds, although we could hear our little man screaming from all the way up front. I was shocked when I walked in to see the Dr. rocking Caden in his arms that he didnt have him dressed and more calmed down and why the room had such a bad burnt odor..it made me sob instantly while choking back vomit. I was expecting more like the hospital where after circumsized them come in wrapped and asleep. After Caden calmed down a bit Mommy took him to the car and feed him, rocking him to sleep before the long car ride home. Luckily he only screamed the last leg of the trip. We were informed that he might be fussy, which was more like a shock when our normally happy baby was screaming uncontrollably for what seemed days. He ususally goes to bed around 8pm and sleeps till either 11 or 1 eats and then will sleep till 4 and if we are lucky not wake up for the next 3 hours every hour and eat. Caden went to bed finally and we are hoping that the night will help heal his mouth and he will be back to his super smiley self in the morning. We love you!
