We left for our 7-8 hour drive on Thursday and headed up to Show Low. We had a nice dinner with friends and then stayed the night. Colin did pretty good in the same hotel room as us, and he sure loved jumping on the bed! Friday morning we left really early for Durango (5 hour drive). Colin did good on the drive pointing out on the semi's and other things. We finally made it to Durango that afternoon! Our hotel room was a mini appt. size!! It was fantastic! Colin loved the giant tub and running all around the place! He loved it so much and it was nice and quiet and dark that we had to wake him up the next morning to head out on our day trip! Colin enjoyed the river walk by the hotel and of course swimming in the heated pool. Saturday morning we headed out for the 7 hour train ride. Yep..I know a pregnant Mommy and 2 year old were about to embark on a very long ride. It's about a 3 1/2 train ride up to Silverton, Co. Colin did fantastic!! He loved looking out at everything spotting the cows, horses and prairie dogs (or as Colin and Daddy said chipmunks). We had some time in Silverton to walk around, a small mining town with not much to do. We grabbed a bite to eat and then went searching for statues, another item Colin thinks is cool! Then we headed back for another 3 1/2 hour train ride back to Durango. Colin feel asleep with Mommy for about 2 hours which was great! And the last hour was spent searching for chipmunks and walking around the train cars! Everyone on the train kept saying what a great lil boy Colin was and they were astonished at how great he did!! That's my boy! We made it back to Durango and Daddy & Colin went exploring the river walk and then went swimming. We were all so pooped from the long sitting that room service was just what we all needed!! Father's Day we went out for a Day with Thomas the train. Thomas the train was doing a 30 minute train ride followed by a petting zoo, train museum, balloons, bounce houses, and even train tattoos. Which Colin still has on his arm right now by the way. Colin even got certified as a Jr. Enginner and got to meet Sir Topham Hatt!! Colin loved petting the bunnies and cows! We then headed out for our 7 hour drive back home! We managed to stop one time (still not sure how we all did that) and a town that had a lot of dinosaur statues, and of course Colin thought that was super cool! We made it home around 6 pm that night and all just crashed around the house. Mommy got a cold on the trip and Colin ended up with it last night so he was up all night...poor lil guy had a great trip and hope he feels better soon!
